A 26-Minute

Weekly Program

Public schools have become breeding grounds for drugs, crime and immorality.  Ever increasing numbers of young people leave school functionally illiterate and ill-equipped to make a positive contribution to society or to their own futures.  The result is frustration, bitterness, poverty and violence.

Out of this personal sense of inadequacy and frustration has spawned cynicism and despair.

Most Christians would refuse to attend a church that denied God was the Creator, denied the virgin birth, ridiculed the resurrection, taught that homosexuality and fornication were acceptable.  Yet 90% of evangelic Christians send their children to government schools where all of these anti-Christian ideas are taught as the gospel truth.

Is it any wonder 70% of Christian youth don't return to church 2 years after high school graduation?

Schools have become a war zone!  Nationwide, an estimated one fifth of all students arm themselves daily.  When school taught that God answered prayers children learned to trust in God, not in guns or knives.

Teaching absolute values based on God's Word has been replaced with moral relativity, creating a society that doesn't even know right from wrong.

C.S. Lewis said, "We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst."

Many American educators who laugh at religion, preferring to teach "values clarification," are shocked to find 12 year old criminals in our midst.

Teen pregnancy has grown proportionately to the number of school clinics that pass out condoms and teach birth control techniques.  In fact, as the amount of contraceptive information increased, so did the rate of pregnancy.

The illiteracy, the violence drugs and sexual promiscuity are only symptoms, not the cause.

The root cause of our problems is that our schools have turned away from God.

Unless America repents and returns to God, our perilous descent into violence and anarchy will not be stopped.

That's why we produce Issues In Education.   We feel it's time to return moral sanity and academic excellence to our schools.  What do you think?

James Madison, the chief framer of the Constitution said, "We have staked America's future on the capacity of each of us to govern ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."

What's to happen to an America where schools prohibit even the posting of the Ten Commandments, and won't allow a teacher to have his/her Bible on their desk?  Statistics show a large percent of all crimes are committed by school age youth; the very group prohibited from learning absolute values.

Dear Listener,

According to public opinion polls, America's number One priority is the poor state of our public education.

The Purpose of Issues In Education is to provide accurate information on current trends in education, allowing citizens and parents to make informed decisions.  Since God gives parents the responsibility for training their children, we promote homeschooling and Christian education.  With 90% of Christian Americans sending their children to public institutions we encourage their involvement at the local level, first by being informed and second by being active.

Education is not a side issue with us.  It is THE issue.  Education is an issue that will determine the future of our nation.

Some guest who have been interviewed include:

Joe Clark, former principal characterized by the movie "Lean On Me"

Mary Lour Retton, first American woman to win a gold medal

                           in gymnastics

Dr. Robert Simonds, President of Citizens for Excellence in Education

Frank Peretti, world's most popular author of Christian fiction

Jay Sekulow, American Center for Law and Justice

Issues In Education has aired nationally for the last twelve years and is presently on 215 stations not including translator stations.

The FCC, as a public service program, recognizes Issues In Education, as a nonprofit, not-commercial program.

And it is in the name of Jesus of Nazareth that we dedicate this program to.  We are totally dedicated to serve the Lord our God with our whole heart, soul, and mind.  Service to the Lord means service to humanity (Matt. 25:33-46).  And that's what Issues In Education is all about.

                                                              Sincerely,
